Friday Peter and I visited the project in the Health Sciences dept project mentioned in an earlier blog. The collaborative learning space will be used by nursing, social work and physiotherapy.
There is not a lot to report at this early stage of the project but I have added some pictures below.
There will be a reduction in class sizes from approx130 to 60. It is currently a traditional lecture room. The floor is sloped as opposed to raked (stepped). It would be good if the floor could be levelled. It also has two columns which present a challenge.
I hope to be able to input into this project, it is on a tight schedule and actively being designed whilst I am in Melbourne.
Three architectural practices have been asked to quote for the project.
